Word Wednesday

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” -2 Peter 3:9 (NIV)

When God has us to wait on his word and promises to manifest in our lives, it seems like forever to us. As a result, we become impatient, weary or doubtful (he knew we would). However, God wants us to wait in faith, patience and peace, believing he will do just as he promised. I encourage you, as I do myself, to intentionally stay in waiting for God’s perfect will for you. You may not understand what he is doing but know it’s what’s best for you. Don’t move in your own thinking or emotions, as we often are unsure of what we want; this leads to delays and destruction. Instead, allow the Holy Spirit to go before you, guiding you to where and what God has for you. God does not desire for anything bad to happen to you. Therefore, seek to stay in His will where there is an abundance of peace, love and protection. Should you find yourself doing “your own thing” outside of God’s will, trying to make something happen, repent of your sins and return to God with your whole submitted being (body, mind spirit). What God has for you is better than you can ever imagine...wait on it!

Stay hopeful and be blessed!
