Word Wednesday

“Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.” -Psalm 37:7 (NIV)

When faced with situations we often want to handle them in our own way. When we do this, we get in our own way for we know that God’s ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not ours. He knows and has already settled every situation we face, knowing us better than we know ourselves. He gives us guidance through the Holy Spirit. I encourage you to get out of your own way by listening and yielding to the Holy Spirit, who is our teacher and comforter. In yielding, there is great peace. I also encourage you to not grow weary or worry when it “appears” that others, who are not striving to live righteous lives, are successful; there is a price for that. Trust and believe God’s word and promises for your life. You can start by getting out of the way so He can have His way. Things will definitely get better! Have a blessed day!
