Word Wednesday

“Now fear the LORD and serve Him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD.” -Joshua 24:14

The word that is preached and taught in church about commitment and serving God is nothing new; that message has be preached since our ancestors were in Egypt. Just as loyalty and commitment to God are issues today, they were back then. By now, we should truly know him for ourselves. He showed us his love and commitment to us through his son Jesus Christ. Even now, while we don’t deserve it, his mercy and grace is evidence of his love for us.

We must make a conscious decision to repent and serve the LORD wholeheartedly. I encourage you to repent with a sincere heart and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you to your purpose in serving God. Your faithfulness to him must be deliberate, intentionally seeking Him and his will for your life. To do this you must give up your will for your life and sin; it’s doable and worth it! Serving God and being in his will is the best place to be; there are many blessings and benefits. If you haven’t tried God, I strongly encourage you to do so...it’s not too late! He hasn’t left you, you left Him. Have a blessed day!
