Word Wednesday

“So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.”

-Matthew 7:12 (NIV)

We’ve heard this scripture all of our lives, yet for some reason it is not practiced by everyone. When God blesses and elevates his children, it’s to draw others to Him, advancing the Kingdom. In doing this, we must operate in and walk out the Beatitudes of the Holy Bible in our lives. Unfortunately, this is not what is happening in the world today. People are doing and saying whatever they please, all under the notion of “speaking my mind” or “ living my life”. The total disrespect is more blatant now than ever. They don’t care how their actions and words impact others. While they freely disrespect people, they have a hard time functioning when the tables turn. Thus, the increase in happenings such as divorce and loss of lives in our country.

I encourage you, as you journey through life, to live in respect for others by intentionally exercising the Beatitudes and treating others like they matter. As Christians, we are always under a microscope; let your actions and words reflect your relationship with Our Father. It costs us nothings to do so...we gain much more.

Be blessed!
